What Scripting Environment to use??

I know that this question has been asked before but I want to try and get a more updated response.

I am currently using tribal IDE and was wondering if thier was something out thier that may be more flexible. I see in the documentation that GG recomends Tide and jedit, but for the life of me I cannot get it to work at all.

any suggestions is more then appreciated.

I've been using torsion for scripting and arranging scripts into projects, havent used the debugging utilities much at all.

@John- be sure to check out the Enhanced Telnet Debugger resource that Sickhead Games wrote- it is used by Torsion to provide a more full-featured debugging session.
