Problems resizing skeletons to fit different meshes in 3ds Max

Hey community. :)

Im currently trying to resize Jill's (BraveTree's Girl Pack model) skeleton to fit a couple different meshes in max 7. Im running into some problems, though. I emailed Joe Maruschak and he helpfully pointed me to the Bone Tools (Character > Bone Tools). When I go into bone edit mode and move a bone, it blasts the skeleton apart. Everything flies EVERYWHERE. Is there some trick to this? Do I have to delete all the IK chains and then rebuild them after im done sizing the skeleton or something like that?

I figure that its probably something really simple taht Im just not seeing. I know that this can be done. So... any ideas? Has anyone else had any luck doing this?
