Practical solution for learning 3D games modelling

Hi there,
I'm working on an educational solution to help 3D modellers learn about game modelling, using the context of an actual game environment.
One of the unique features of the solution is that you can place your levels online on your website, and send the links to friends, potential employers etc.
All major modelling packages that have a Shockwave 3D export ( Max, Maya, GameSpace etc ) are supported.

You can view more information, and download the app for free, here...

If you guys have any 3D modelling skills, and a 3D app with Shockwave 3D export, download the .ZIP and give it a go. We did have a coder testing it who could just create boxes in 3DS Max, and they had both a lot of fun creating the simple scenes, and also a lot more appreciation for the artists regarding how difficult it can be to create a cool level :)

One of the hardest things I've tried to find is a all in one example of how things are done for art in gaming.
I haven't tried this yet but I will soon

I think it's a damn good idea. Being a coder, I don't know all that much about the 3d aspect of things but I am always looking to learn. One of the hardest things I've tried to find is a all in one example of how things are done for art in gaming.

You can get a whole load of 3d modeling tutorials at 3d-palace.com, and they do cater to gamers.

It gives a good appreciation of how creating a playable 3D scene may look easy, but is actually quite difficult, from 3DS Max / Maya etc.

As a coder, hopefully you'll find the export path extremely easy to use... we've automated everything, even to the creation of physical objects ( just call them moving* eg movingBox, movingTeapot01 etc ).It gives a good appreciation of how creating a playable 3D scene may look easy, but is actually quite difficult, from 3DS Max / Maya etc.
