3DGPAi1 VS official Torque Engine

Upon insertion of the 3D Game Pragramming Installation CD, there is an option to "install Torque"...
This installation in fact installs a folder named 3DGPAi1.
But where are all the .cc and .h files that should be associatd with the Torque engine??
And what is the relationship between the example games eg. Emaga6 and Koob in relation to 3DGPAi1??
I also have the official Torque game engine installed...
So when running Emaga6, is this game running off 3DGPAi1 or the official Torque engine??
Thanks!

Uh... see the other thread that I posted about similar problems in here not too long ago... basically the game engine in the book is just a modified little version of tge... You can use the scripts from the book in the real engine, but the book won't tell you how to do that... that's what these forums are here for I guess...Here's the link to the OTHER thread...

EDIT: the specific version on the CD is RELEASE 1.2 at Jan 10, 2004.
during dev of the book, the RELEASE version was 1.1.
Stock Torque.
You can check the version by opening the console and typing echo(getVersionString()); or echo(getVersionNumber());
GG gets to "wear it" because, being the decent folks they are, they try to resolve issues and help people. They made these forums available for these reasons. They made this forum available for my book when they didn't have to, and one does wonder at times whether it was a good idea or not.
And like Jeff said, that guy on Amazon doesn't know what he's talking about.

Acording to Kayley, there are no mods. What happened is that TGE is now 1.4
@Eric Lavigne & Jeff
One problem with the Forums is that the thread get's so lenghty we loose the grip on what's going on and what's actually the original doubt.
Jeff is right in his rant. The book was written by a third party but actually no one will phone Thompson for support they will call GG instead. This is the backside of "Torquevangelism" and it looks much alike "macevangelism", people bash Apple for almost everything that goes wrong with their macs.
On the Mac forum there is a guy that blames GG because his MPEG encoder has compatibilities issues with Torque. But somehow the problem is not with the encoder but with torque.
This thing reminds me the phrase from St. Exupery's "Little Prince" : "You are responsible for what you captivate" that sounds really nice but it's a flaw. You are actually responsible ONLY for what you agree with someone else.
The problem I see is that GG is not big enough to handle a centralized support. I download version 1.4, add this and that resource, the game hangs. And that becomes GG responsability cause "torque" hangs.
One sollution I see would be somewhat disapointing for the community : Instead of posting resources, tutorials, etc. The authors would sell them to GG ( or thru GG ) as add ons ( say for $3 to $30 depending on the resource), so that a correct responsability chain would be set. This revenue would be used to finance a better support and to reward collaborators. The other problem that would arise would be the commercial one ( how to tax it ? ). Maybe that could be solved by inventing some credits $T (TorqueBucks) that could be used to purchase other resources
Just my 2 cents ( now that was a long post :-) )
