Neato use for Torque

by Nate "Nateholio" Watson · in General Discussion · 01/11/2005 (9:13 pm) · 1 replies

While rewriting one of my kidish stories from high school that I wrote for my project I thought of a neat use for Torque.

Lets say that your development team is geographically seperated and uses the net to communicate and such. What if your team used Torque to basically have VR meetings? You could say "come over here and look at this terrain feature, model, etc" and get real time feedback on things. You could also have the team present to do such things as build maps from precompiled .DIFs so everyone would see how the end product looks and give feedback, or move an object themselves until everyone thinks it looks good. I could go on but I wont.

Coolness scale - 8
Usefulness scale - 4 I guess, maybe 6
Feasability scale (with Torque as is) - Im not sure so I'll give it a 5

Anyways, just an idea I had, and in keeping with my latest .Plan I wont say anything more about it.

Actually, it's a great idea. And the mileage gets exponentially better depending on the modifications that are made. The built-in segments for the RTS Pack are an excellent start for a team since a chat interface and "placement" interface are built-in. Adding the domination modifications would make this 500% more interesting and feasible.

It's a great idea.
