Terrain too low

by Mario N. Bonassin · in Torque Game Engine · 01/10/2005 (10:08 pm) · 2 replies

I'm trying to replace the terrain in the starter fps with my terrain, but everytime I put it in it goes way too low. I can't seem to get it to be at the same level, or close to the level the other one was at. it always appears way below in the fog. I've played with the min height and height range and that didn't work.

is there a tutorial or something that explains how to use the editors a little better?

Are you loading your own terrain from a file? The terrain in Torque is fairly high up, and all the fog settings and such are tweaked for it in the demo mission, so you might want to consider renormalizing your terrain source file before loading it.

You might also try the min height and height range again. I forget to click the "Apply" button about half the time when I'm adjusting the heights, and I experience a few moments of bewilderment followed by a few seconds of forehead-smacking realization.
