A Bug and a Suggestion

In zapmatch, if you kill yourself, you get the kill

Can you make a drop flag button, so that you can pass on the flag to a different teammate?

Definitely two issues we're gonna hit soon.

Not sure about the drop flag button. We'll see. We're out of buttons on the gamepad... though we could just get rid of the show scores functionality and only have it on the keyboard.

You could make it a ship module.

Scores are useful. I frequently use the Halo2 scoreboard. <-- my 2 cents, not a Pronouncement From On High or anything.

Throw flag would be a nice feature, although if it conflicts with gamepad, you shouldn't have an advantage lean towards one type of configuration. Fair > Function

Then if it is a conflict, couldn't you make it part of the ship configure?

Yeah, because, if you do that, you could probably make the flag 'throwable' (so it has physics) so players can throw it using the module. Which could be interesting :P

Thinking at a more advanced competition or serious pub games, no one is going to sacrifice shields or speed boost to throw a flag.

There is't enough gained to sacrifice one of the other two moduels.

It would be nice, but it probably isn't realistic. you'll have to stick to killing yourself with the bouncer ;)

Anyone here play "Infantry" on Sony Online site... played it myself a coupe years while it was in beta (basically was free for a long time until Sony snatched it up and includes it in a pass access)...

its a 2d wargame, isometric if I remember right, so like diablo meets tribes... you get classes, weapons, vehicles... fun little game, used to play it in breaks from evercrack

they have a game mode thats like soccer on jetbikes... one 'very' usefull tactic is to pass the ball... which would seem to add a similar tactic here... that can create some great strategic elements in a game.

lol sorry for long winded post, but Infantry was pretty fun, that passing aspect added a lot more teamwork too, would easily take on passing the flag to other boosts

Making the flag throwing module more practical, not hard. Just give it two uses: throw and pick up. Obviously if you have a flag then you aren't trying to pick one up and vice versa.

In retrieve games, I have often wanted to take a flag from my own base. If there is only one flag at my base, and I've got the job of defending it... so much easier to defend something that I can carry. If there were a module that let me pick that flag up, I would use it. The loading areas are often close enough to my base to make this practical.

Just throwing another good aspect from a game I've noticed... the Infantry game has a capture the flag mode also... in which once you get the flag it automatically drops off of you in like 30 - 45 seconds... enough to go and find a space to make a base and hide, but not allowing the player to continually hide it...

just a fun interesting aspect I haven't seen before
