I've read the tutorial on how to get TGE to compile with VS2005 and all the stuff from the text works, but when I compile I get this:
Project : error PRJ0003 : Error spawning 'cmd.exe'.

BSCMAKE: error BK1506 : cannot open file '..\engine\out.VC6.DEBUG\abstractPolyList.sbr': No such file or directory
Build log was saved at "file://c:\Torque\SDK\engine\out.VC6.DEBUG\BuildLog.htm"
Torque Demo - 2 error(s), 0 warning(s)
========== Rebuild All: 6 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 skipped ==========
I just got the TGE license and made a switch from MSVC++6 to VS2005 so I dont know so much about the compiler and it's error reports so please help me.

Where's the tutorial on compiling with VS2005 that you mention?

As far as I know, there is no tutorial for VS2005 Express. It is not an officially supported compiler. MSVC++ 6.0 still is.

As Jeff noted, this is *not* an officially supported compiler/tutorial.

Second, I know this is unsupported from GG, but as a Microsoft ISV so are half the packages (read "beta products") I use. I have to start using them some time to keep up with non-GG development projects but I like to stay within one version of IDE as much as I can (I've been on VC7 since it's first beta). But, I always keep the old versions around to prove out whether something is a tool version issue before I try to get help on an something.
Thanks for the link Matt.

The title of the thread is "Visual Studio 2005 express beta problems". Looks kinda like the original post was about the express version, eh?

Oops - I don't pay much attention to the thread titles - people don't generally give much thought to them. The text didn't mention Express.

Out of curiosity - has anyone tried C++ Express with Torque 2D? I guess I'll need the source in order to make the edit that Matthew points out in his howto. Since T2D is more or less a variant of the normal Torque Engine, I was expecting similar results to Matthew's.
