Currently, the model weighs in at around 2,170 polys... and there are two 512 maps; one for the head/face and the other for the body.

Eric they are animated gifs, make sure u view in a broswer that supports them.

New hair concept. I think I'm ready to start modeling the hair.

I'm really liking this model. Nice topology so far, good use of polies. On top of that, your texture work is amazing. I really love the painterly look to the textures (it's a refreshing change from the usual photo-sourced textures for human characters). I'm definitely looking forward to seeing some updates to this character. :)

On a different note, I was browsing the CGTalk forums, and was wondering if you had already released this model, whether in private or public, because someone going by the moniker of "Joe Bloggs" on that forum has posted up a very similar (okay, essentially identical) model, only it's wearing a kevlar helmet in this thread.

Yep, that's me ^^, Joe Bloggs. I haven't released anything yet. I'm still working on it.

Right now I've been doing some preliminary tests with normal-mapping on the character (for TSE)... it's looking pretty cool :D.... far from done though.
