Question about tank pack

by Jeff Wilkinson · in General Discussion · 12/13/2004 (2:18 am) · 4 replies

I have gamespace and I am just wondering if I purchase the bravetree tank pack, Would I be able to create models that would work and import them into the game?

I know it only supports lightwave maya and 3dmax.

The models wouldn't be a problem. The scripts and stuff that come with it would since they are Torque specific.

Edit: When I say scripts I mean the .CS and .CC files and not any of the art related stuff. I really don't know about those.

I haven't bought the Tank pack yet but are planning too.

Jeff, I have a feeling that included in the pack are also instructions how to set up bones/animations/whatever to get your own tank models to work like intended.
Since the latest release of the DTS exporter for Gamespace it works pretty much like the ones for Maya/3DS Max. Following the instructions for exporting with those exporters shouldn't be a problem, even tough they dont specifically say gameSpace.

The code will work as long as the model is set up the right way. I have no idea if the gamespace will allow the setup or if the exporter will support it.

If you do get it, I can send you a schematic view of the 3dsmax model so you can link it correctly, or you can view the model in the soon to be released showtool pro (Dave's Looking Glass)

Bravetree did recently rework their other content packs to include .cob and .scn files to support Gamespace users.

I see the Tank Pack has just Max, Maya and Lightwave files. I don't know how those load into Gamespace - if the object and group hierarchy would be imported and appear in the Scene Editor?
