Any Servers

Any servers out there that I can play this game on?
Right now all I get is a black screen with the text, "Resolving Community Server Address" at the bottom

It should work, but it doesn't. Both on Registered and guest I'm stuck on "Resolving Community Server Address" just like Owen. I just installed the game though.

Im having the same problem, I also have tried both the registered and unregistered option. I'm using windows 98 on a cable modem.

case 1) The community server address is setup as a url (not raw ip address) and the two of you don't have a working DNS lookup capability--this doesn't make a lot of sense, especially if you can use your browser and type "www.garagegames.com" to get here.
case 2) You have extensive firewall rules blocking access to the community server (most probable). This could be either at your home network level, or your ISP.
Further assistance will be needed by GG on this, unfortunately.

It sounds like an issue with (as Paul's message says) trying to resolve the Community server address. Two possibilities (note: I have no access to or clue about the scripts themselves, I just have the 3 servers on my dedicated server (datastorm-studios) and a working client):case 1) The community server address is setup as a url (not raw ip address) and the two of you don't have a working DNS lookup capability--this doesn't make a lot of sense, especially if you can use your browser and type "www.garagegames.com" to get here.

Im running a pretty much barebones system, i have no firewall, and im about 90% sure that my isp does (roadrunner). im pretty sure the roadrunner firewall is an optional download. where can i check what the ip/url is set as, i checked the main /zap folder but i dont see anything useful thats editable. anyway my dns is fine and i very rarely have problems connecting to any other game servers. btw, ive tried the game in LAN mode just to try it out and that works fine, fun to.

I'm using windows 98SE myself. Perhaps that has something to do with it? All my other games are fine except for this one.... i'd like to try it out, but alas.

Probably. I'd like to know if and when there might be a patch to resolve this. I'd like to play this if I can :)

You should be able to select the "Play Online Game (Guest)" Option, enter in the user name you want to use, and then select the "Join Game" option. This wil display the current servers available.
