Newbie question: missing dif texture in racing demo

I have really searched a lot, so please don't point me to the forum search.
I have made a small cube in quark, exported as dif and texture to the interior folder of the fps racing demo.
Now in the world craft editor I picked it up, so throwing in the demo, the cube is there but no texture. What am I doing wrong ?! Sure it's something simple...

I have more than enougt browsed fragments in the various tutorials for that.
So I really appreciate any good pointers/advices :-)

PS: But at least I managed to create a dts from blender and put it into the demo, yes, success,WOHOO, what a feeling ;-)

Pardon my pointing out the obvious..... but did you relight the scene (Alt-L I think) after placing the dif in it? If you don't, it will appear all-black.

Ah, ok, really, didn't know that *sigh* I'll try it out later at home.

I was sure something is missing, please be patient with me, I didn't noticed this step throughout the tuts i read.
