Complex mapping tutorial

by Niko Loeffelholz · in Torque Game Engine · 12/07/2004 (3:58 am) · 5 replies

I offered to help my aunt by designing a building for her. I decided to use QuArK to make it and then put it into Torque so she can walk around the building.

Does anyone have any complex mapping tutorials, as this project will be focused on how the map looks.

Niko, could you be more specific? What exactly do you need the tutorial for? To learn how to use Quark?

Regardless, you can find some Desmond Flechers Quark tutorials here.

How to make much more complex shapes than cubes and other basic geometry.

Also, I'm not very expierienced with quark, so tutorials on how to use it would be helpful.

Thanks.

You will have to build your more complex shapes using the basic geometric shapes. Or use a .dts for certain parts where you need lots of detail.

There are no tutorials really for QuArK, just little tasters into the world that can be. Its a funny beast as everything IS made from cubes, you have to stretch and squash them into the shape you want and use lots of cubes to make curves etc.
You can easilt do buildings though, thats what it was designed for ;)

It helps with collision efficiency
