Kind of like how MS Xbox ads in the US often stereotype gamers as a bunch of really geeky nerds!!!. Surely it isn't just me that gets frustrated with the way media trys to portay gamers in this way.
To be honest though, I'm not sure I can consider myself as a gamer anymore, as I play them less and less these days, and enjoy creating them a lot more.

I liked the humour in bullfrogs games, Gabriel knight 3 was awfull, as is that new leisure suit larry game. I quit within 5 minutes of starting to play LLL on the xbox. It's so poor on the humour that its insulting.Kind of like how MS Xbox ads in the US often stereotype gamers as a bunch of really geeky nerds!!!. Like in World of Warcraft, there are some people walking through Stormwind having a conversation about magic and one of them says: "Wait, but wouldn't that mean crossing the streams? Isn't that bad?"

Some of the best humor is subtile.Like in World of Warcraft, there are some people walking through Stormwind having a conversation about magic and one of them says: "Wait, but wouldn't that mean crossing the streams? Isn't that bad?"

Adrian: About Larry, I think It depends on who you are targetting... I'm sure i would've thought it was hilarious back in school... Face it... We're just outgrowing humour in games that have them in... By saying that, most games that have some kind of humour aren't really for the adult, unfortunatly... I agree with you there Pat...

It would be interesting to play those old games again and see what they were like. But your right, I recently turned 32 and I see a lot of kids today goofing around, with a big attitude and I kind of find myself thinking, man... I remember being like that lol, and marvel at how I wasted so much time trying to be someone else. Anyway, I'm walking off at a tangent so I'll shut up now :)

Yeah Burning I think your probably right. To be honest I don't remember the original larry games, and prefered the space quest and kings quest games. And absolutely adored the original Monkey Island game. It would be interesting to play those old games again and see what they were like. The selectable characters in Timesplitters (PS2) made me laugh, and the whole game Theme Hospital too. But it's when the otherwise deadly serious games suddenly have a mad-cap moment, or a character that is made to deliberately not fit the game's universe - that's when I really laugh.

The Summoner 2 bonus video was hilarious. Personally I like it when devs spend extra time and resources just to make their audience laugh, it seems to make the game more of an experience. The selectable characters in Timesplitters (PS2) made me laugh, and the whole game Theme Hospital too. turns around while you hang on it... and everybody "falls" into the air...
Then it's turned of.... screen turns back and the badguys start falling back

I agree, non-gamers might get the wrong ideas about us.
Then again, I haven't played anything besides demos from GG for the past month.
