Do I need the Rts kit?

If i wanted to make and rts, would I have to buy the starter kit? I don't plan on starting on one anytime soon, but just wondering for my future.

Just a question, Can i make a game from scratch? In other words, can I make a game creating a new terrian and skybox and not us any of these premade scripts like in the fps starter kit?

Yeah, afaik the starter.fps and starter.racing folders are just there if you want a starting point, you can start your own folder and add what you need for your game.
