David,

I must say you guys are doing a good job with Camelot. There is a fair amount of work done from what I could see.

Keep it up.

Three times (both private and public Torque forums, plus General Discussion).

Most people prefer a little more information before downloading files (such as what the file contains, how large it is, what software and hardware is required etc.), especially if it is from a site they don't know.

Easy guys. One post int eh forums is enough, but let's focus on the content. I have not had time to look at the video, but I'll try to get to it.

@David: Your .plan and the DevSnap are good place to show screenies and announce videos, etc.

Keep at it!

I looked at the video as well as the Camelot Galway web site.

Looks good, but I don't quite know what the game is. Is it a FPS, RPG or an educational game. Seems like it might be a RPG, but it didn't show character creation or the battle system.

Guess it left me wanting more :-)

NOT trying to spam, just to get the word out there of this project to the garagegames community. Ye dont like it we wont post again, we have taken Torque to push it into new heights, we have 6 more months and the engine is about to take a serious reworking in order to achieve what we want which is not as easy as it sounds. While i hear of people wants an RPG pack to create a product of such standards seen by other RPG games the torque engine needs to be rework as it cant take it right now unless areas are far apart, thing of GTA with so many things going on all in a very contained small area.

This product is an Adventure tour, much like a RPG but also elements of a FPS. Very focused on the story aspect & we expect not only the PC but to push this product onto the Xbox. Everything you see is not the finish product, the graphics are getting a major overhaul, etc. etc.

We got a lot of support from the forms, a few excellient people out there that helped alot which we have credited you in the movie (no names yet).

Torque is a great way to get into games, to learn on the programming & art side. This game we are producing will be one of the most complicated projects developed with Torque which ye wont have to take my word on once we are finished with it. Also the movie shows 50% of what we have done so far, the project has taken only 2 months... TWO months in art, design, programming, level building, AI, etc. to do.

So here we are, and all i wanted to do was to show (public & private) that there is going to be a major release in your local story next year of this product. If you like RPGs or not it will make headlines & (as far as i am aware) that no one besides the release of Tribes has a game of that quality or low budget release out on the shelves world-wide.

Thanks for the support to those who know & we hope ye all will support us as much as possible, no said this was, is, will be easy.

Kind regards,

Keith

Wasn't trying to knock your work in any way...in fact, when I saw the first post, I downloaded and enjoyed the movie =) Excellent work! You probably should be aware that a large majority of the community is subscribed to multiple forums here (it is the default) and your postings were showing up multiple times. If you are concerned about reaching everyone who may or may not be subscribed to a forum then the best form is to post a main thread in one forum and refer to it in any other cross forum posts. This reduce the "spam" quality a bit and will keep the discussion from fragmenting across multiple threads. For announcements like this is it usually better to use a .plan or a devshot.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Matthew i was not aware of how the forums worked in that way which helps alot. Time is always against us here!

Its great to hear the comments about the project, good & bad as the feedback is very important we feel, more heads the better but not to have too many cooks in the kitchen :)

@David--yes, people were calling you spammer not because you posted, but because we saw the same exact post in so many forums. We want to see the post, we'd just like to see it only once!

I'm downloading it, but an word of advice: zip'ing videos is *bad*. First, compressing compressed files won't compress much more, unless your video is RAW or something (if so it's really B A D). Second, zip files can contain anything (executable files most likely), and without proper info people will treat it as SPAM.
