Thank you BraveTree, driving a Sherman M4 with the Torque engine is so fun !

It has moved my 15 year back, when I was a programer for a french game company called Loriciel (distributed by Broderbund over USA).

I remember things like Atari ST, Amiga, PC with 16 colors, a 2-3 persons team, a 100% assembly 3D engine, a 50-60 poly vehicle and a lot of fun :D
Of course today I've bought the Tank Pack !

Back then they were TONS of fun, but today, they aren't nearly as much.

Crap is still crap no matter what platform it's on. But I'm finding some older games to be remarkably addictive even 10-20 years later. Go figger.

I'm not so sure. I'm rediscovering some old gems with DosBox and other emulators, and the great ones are still great. I don't THINK it's just rose-tinted nostalgia glasses. And now REALLY... the graphics have improved SUBSTANTIALLY... as well as the potential for terrain, collision detection, AI, etc...
But aside from opportunities for multiplayer over the Internet , can you really say those old games were truly any less fun than modern offerings?
