WARNING!!!!

*** THE EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM HAS BEEN ACTIVATED!!! ***

Please tune to channel KGTC for local reports and weather information......

At 5:45am local time, doppler rader reported a possible large TorqueNado "pathing" it's way around a nearby server. Please do not be alarmed as this area is believed to be under development and not currently populated. Please stay tuned to KGTC for more reports on this storm system as it develops.


We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.....

Very neat!

But what happened to DeV| Gonzo? Is he ok or do we need to activate the T.I.P.S. (Torque Insurance Policy System) to pay out to his family?

Seriously, I would like to see a fraps (or other movie) of this running in game.

I also wouldn't mind playing a game of "Sucked into the Tornado" Not exactly sure what the game play would be, but with that title I certainly would download the demo! :-)

You could run some container radius searches at the position of the TorqueNado every whatever so it follows it, then apply impulses to any object that runs into the search area. Boom, flying cows!

Cool, you should make this into a resource(the particle emitters that is). Does it actualy move around and do damage?

@ David - I dumped Helen weeks ago, I thought everyone knew that.

@ Sam - back at ya, check that vote system.

@ Dan - Unfortunately DeV| G could not get out of the way while I was getting a better shot, plus it kind of helped to give a feel for the size. You cant get the whole thing into one shot very easy, and when you do, you lose all the detail near the skirt of the tornado. I've never used Fraps before, but I plan to when I get some more of this done. As for a game, my intent was not only to be the first(that I know of) to generate a Tornado in TGE, and to establish a way to control it in a gaming situation. I'm actually looking at two nifty ways to control it that shouldn't be too hard to make work. BTW, DeV| G is fine, damage was not enabled on this particular Tornado, but I can promise you that pretty soon he's probably not going to be so lucky, lol.


@ Ralph - thanks, but I already have custom options that give me easier choices.


@ Josh - I was doing some custom work on the emitter class to take what was already good and make it REAAAALLLY good. Anyway, after making my modifications my particleEmitter class I was testing them out when I accidentally figured out that not only did they work exactly the way I wanted them to, but I could also make them do even more than I had expected. In this case, it was the ability to vortex the particles. As soon as I did it I was like "OH! HELL YEAH!!!! " That was a free bonus to me, lol. So unfortunately nobody would be able to run them if I posted them. And to the question you are going to ask next, the answer is "Not yet".
