Torque & Documentation Bundle Pack?

by Jedive · in Torque Game Engine · 11/06/2004 (5:26 am) · 4 replies

For what it looks on the photo, it seems that the Torque Documentation comes with a book and a CD-ROM. It would be cool if you released a special edition which costs 100$ + Documentation price which contained the installers for the 3 versions of Torque in the CD-ROM. It would be something similar to a boxed version of the Torque Game Engine :)

Of course, access to the CVS server would also be needed.

The Torque documentation is something you get when you purchase the engine SDK.

The book you're talking about is probably Ken Finney's Book. It's a very nice book indeed, but it's not the official documentation AFAIK.

Stefan,

Jedive is referring to the Torque Documentation photo beside Ken's book on the Make Games homepage.

Jedive:
I'm not quite sure when they are going to release it but at one time I seen the price for it would be $29.95 (at least that's what was mentioned somewhere). I think it's the documentation in print format, along with an electronic version of it. For right now you can view the entire documentation on line at:

www.garagegames.com/docs/torque/general/

If you are a Torque owner you'll see a lot more of it then if you are not.

I think he's talking about the 'coming soon' documentation on the Make Games screen.

I'd agree except for the point about including the installers. I'd hate to see them have to remaster the cd's every quarter to update to the current installers. Links to the installers in the documentation would probably suffice though.

Thanks for the questions and interest guys. We'll be talking more about the printed docs very soon (just have to get a couple other projects out the door first here).
