It has been a LONG time since I've found a 2D game that captured and excited me like Gish has. I think the last one was Escape Velocity. Heck, its been a while since I've found ANY game that I have really liked. I really doubted I would enjoy it, but the demo got me hooked and I just purchased the full game. I just wanted to say that you guys have created a fantastic game. Keep up the good work. It is games like this that make me proud to be a part of this community.

I dont get the point of the game. A ball of tar trying to rescue some woman who aint hot.

Hint: the real point of the game is to find out how to get to the end of the level, while picking up the maximum number of amber blobs, killing the bad guys, and finding the secrets. What, you need motivation, too?

Hey, if you were a ball of tar, you'ld take whatever you could get when it comes to romance, and LIKE it!Hint: the real point of the game is to find out how to get to the end of the level, while picking up the maximum number of amber blobs, killing the bad guys, and finding the secrets. What, you need motivation, too?

It returns to a concept that has been lost on many developers nowadays... fun and simple gameplay. Think of Pac-Man... what goal was there in that? Navigate a maze and eat a bunch of dots without being killed by some ghosts. What's the motivation behind Tetris? Asteroids? Galaxian? The list goes on and on... Video games are, at their core, about having fun while being challenged. You don't need some deep storyline with voice-acting and a gazillion polys per second to have a good game. Unfortunately, that's been lost or otherwise forgotten as graphics have become better and hardware more powerful. Games have gradually become more about the "ooh and ahh" and less about the gameplay - with few expections.

It's a great game and especially because it has never been done before and the environmental interaction is everywhere. It's not as flashy as Halo 2, Doom 3 or Unreal Tournament 2004, but it's not trying to be. This is where Chronic Logic succeeded beautiful, they used their brains to create something fun and original. They understood that they couldn't compete with Rockstar Games or Epic Games and so they defined their own market and focused on the "can do". This is because they knew that it didn't have to be something huge, and with jaw dropping graphics to be fun.
The result of their labor is a fun and acessible game.
