TGE is a complete engine. TSE adds-on new shader capabilities to TGE.
So u should 1st choose TGE :-)

Unless of course the names/dates are just an incredible coincedence.

Or... you could just magic the source out the air...www.gamedev.net/community/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=278073

I would purchase both even if you aren't going to use TSE yet , just mainly due to the reduced price.

Get TGE to get familiar with a stable engine, TSE is cool when you know a thing or two about graphics to do special FX. Buy TSE now and save 50 bucks before EA ends

Did you and your compatriot decide to pirate Torque to make your fallout clone?

Kenneth Bathgate - Yeah, which one he should buy... meaning he doesn't have either, yet apparently he has the source, so yeah, he obviously has a pirated copy that he's too stupid to figure out how to compile.

Ken: I wasn't being random at all. Scroll up and check out the link to gamedev.net, and you'll see his posts asking for help compiling the source code.

I sent him a comliance letter, for all the good it will do. Man, this kind of thing makes me so mad. We work our butts off, keep things cheap, and this is the kind of crap we have to put up with. Anyway, thanks for the community help in locating this BS.-Jeff Tunnell GG

We've banned him from GameDev.net, so at least he won't be able to continue to try to get support there for something he stole.

Pissed me off.

What I hate is that I helped the other member of their crew on where to start to give TGE a RPG feel instead of a FPS feel. I just searched through his few topics and saw that he admitted that he was evaluating the source because he couldn't afford it.Pissed me off.

2 people having to use the same source at $100 is rediculous.

Don't worry about it. I know this happens all the time. It is easy to get the Torque source code. Most people just don't have the balls to come to our site and ask for help.

I see u got a bitt pissed of due to the use of he SOURCE CODE of GG.
For some $100 is like spitting but for some is alot if your monthly budget is around $200 for the whole month.
What im tryiing to say is Our Team member was looking into the engine to see can we easly adapt it to the SOURCE CODE of our project, that is do we have to rewrite whole f***g half ear of coding to adapt o this engine. It would be not rather stupid to spend half of a month budget to buy something we would have no use for OR would slow us down half year (due to re-coding all the code).
So as a potential customer we came out with an idea to TEST what we MIGHT to buy.
I know the code was opteined not ligally but it is NOT going to be used in the project WITHOUT buing licence (that means IF IT PROVES TO BE EASY TO ADAPT TO OUR PROJECT WE WILL GET THE FUNDS AND BUY THE LICENCE)
As for REDISTRIBUTING the code... NO WE DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE IT.
Yet IF You want us to stop the testing we will delete the files and stop any further use of them.

I'm looking all over for anyone who would like to sponsor the project and give the money for the license. I'm not from America, not from U.K or Germany. 100$ is a lot money for me and it is hard to gather such amount of money quickly enough to be "on time" with every thing. I had to get to know the engine before I could make a decision. It's hard stuff to decide what to buy. I'm really SORY. I'll buy the license.
I will delete all the files with Your code if this is what You want
Mr Jeff Tunnell.. iv sent You an email with a replay to Your message but i return some error message. Did You get the mail?

Hey guys listen. It happened what have happen. It wasn't my intention to commit any crime. I do not know English to well(even this post is translated by my friend), to understand everything that the forum contains. I'm just focusing on what people say, not on the thing that are all around the web site(there's just to much stuff all over for me to translate and be aware off)I'm looking all over for anyone who would like to sponsor the project and give the money for the license. There are documentation available for both TGE and TSE, while a bit weak for TSE - it gives you what you need, most of the time.
TSE is the same as TGE but with the rendering code recoded to support Pixel Shading, Glow Buffers, more effective rendering and a few more features. See the TSE product page.
