WaterBlock usage/bug

I'm not sure if this is down to me misusing the water object in the mission editor, or a bug. Heres what I'm getting

The transparent area occurs at only 1 position in the entire water object. To make the object I added the water via the mission editor, then increased the scale to 2048 2048 25 so that it covers all the lakes in my terrain. I also up'd the tesselation to make the water look better.
However, the center of one of the lakes seems to have a hole in it :(
Any ideas?
Also, if I'm wanting the water to cover a large area, is using such a large scale a good idea? Or should I really be using multiple water objects?
