Hi! I'm new to the forums, and I'll start by apologizing if this is in the wrong place.
I'm thirteen, and I have alot of ideas. So I was directed here. What I need to know is how do I get started? What do I do, get, download, etc. ? I really want to get started in this, and I'm starting here! Thanks in advance for any help!

I've been working in GameMaker and RPG ToolKit for a while. But I dont want to make internet games, I want to make money. I just need to know what things I'll need to to start off making worth while games. I've browsed around the site and I've seen alot of programs, but I dont know which to use. Just any advice for a beginner. :)

I would recommend that you get 3d Game Programming All in One. It talks a lot about torque and how to use it (the game engine used by most people here) but it also talks a bit about the art side which will help even if you are not the person actually doing it. Check it out. Its a great place to start.

A precompiled version of the engine (without C++ source code or license), and several useful programs are included on the CDROM that comes with the book. It literally has everything you need to create a game, although some of the tools are shareware.

They're saying buy that to teach you how to create a game and to help you decide if you want to purchase the Torque Game Engine.A precompiled version of the engine (without C++ source code or license), and several useful programs are included on the CDROM that comes with the book.
