Light Map Scale in Quark

by Blake Lowry · in Artist Corner · 09/22/2004 (1:23 pm) · 5 replies

I am trying to export a very large object from Quark. The problem is that it is larger than the actual world grid in Quark. I get an error saying that the brush is too big or the Light MAp Scale is to small. I set the grid size to the biggest (64) and still no luck. Please help...

Changing the grid size doesn't change the size of the model.

You should increase the lightmap scale as it requests (under map properties), or alternatively, you can cut the object up into smaller pieces.

Lastly, you can make the object smaller in Quark, and scale it in game.

Go into your list on the left side screen. On top you'll see world spawn. RightClick it and look for "Specifics". Change the LightScale and the Geometry Scale. I can rememeber is you change it to "16" or "64" But try either one and see. You might need to scale your map inside torque (Can't remember that either). One way or the other works.
