Possibility of a 'Torque wiki'?

Greetings all,

I am a quite new Torque lisence owner and forum skulker. In beginning to learn how Torque works, I've begun to try to tap into the resources that GG and the community have produced and am working through Ken Finney's book 3d Game Programming all in one.

However, a significant impediment for me at times has been actually finding information I want. This has arisen a few times where I am trying to do something I need help with guided by some resource (like a 3dgpai1 section or the the official Torque docs), but find myself searching the forums for the specific fix or a related issue that the main resource I am going by doesn't quite address. **For reference, my pertinent background is in math and programming though not in application dev in any form**

My question: would it be possible to centralize information for Torque in a 'wiki'-type online resource? For those who may not know, a wiki is a type of information resource where some community contribute to and develops the database, which sounds perfect for Torque... There are both open source and commercial wiki examples; why isn't there one for Torque?

Hi Ed,

Yes, we've discussed the idea of a Torque Wiki quite a bit. The main issue there is just that we have tons and tons and tons of stuff to do, so setting priorities is very important. At the moment, a wiki isn't high enough on the priority list.

I know it sucks to hear stuff like that, but hopefully you can understand. In the next few months though we do want to re-vamp the resources and our learning materials, and introducing and supporting a good wiki may be on the list of important things to do at that time.

Thanks for the suggestion, it's always good to receive constructive feedback and ideas for how to improve things. We definitely have thought about a wiki, and we'll see where it goes from here.
