I purchased this book around May... after going through most of the chapters and noticing quite a few errors I figured the author would post the corrections... Because of work I was unable to continue tinkering around with TGE but now I have more time... It's been almost 5 months and from what I can tell there still isn't corrections... I figured maybe for people that are interested we can post at least chapters 4-6 with code that doesn't produce as many errors/warnings as the code found on the CD. For example in chapter 6 if you run the CD code without modifications and then connect to a dedicated server and press F6, F7, or F8 it crashes (on all my computers). Anyways if anyone is interested in posting corrections let me know... I'm working on Chapter 6...

I probably wasn't very clear on the pros side of the book, I think it's one of the best game how-to books that I've run across... my rant was just frustration of having to go back and fix typo's etc... I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but when I install Emaga6 (all defaults no changes), start the dedicated server then join in with a client, it crashes if I die either by myself or by another person... I get the "Send Report To Microsoft" dialog (yea I keep it on :/)... Maybe he said that this would happen and I didn't see it... anyways I assume this could could be fixed via the OnDeath function...? Tell me how to change the thread title and I will, Joe... Cheers,
Jordan

Wow, of all the bugs I encountered in Ch 6, I never came across that one. I couldn't figure out how to change the title of a thread. I guess we will just have to start a new one...

I was hoping something like you suggested would eventually pop up. I have personally had a great experience with the book, but would appreciate a place to find all the corrections. This is certainly the kind of community that would be capable of something like that.
Would you mind renaming this thread or starting another one with a different title? How about "All Chapter 6 errata". Then you could hunt around gg forums for all the chapter 6 corrections and post them to the thread along with your own corrections. After that, you could make a thread for each additional chapter when the time comes. I would certainly contribute if it were in an organized manner (and no flaming, please!!).
Again, good idea.
Thanks,
Joe
