3D modeling programs that are torque compatible

by Charlie Stoker · in Artist Corner · 09/13/2004 (2:56 pm) · 7 replies

I'm going through the 3D game programming all in one book, and he wants to use the milkshape program. are there any free/shareware programs that aren't restricted to 30/45 day trials?

I've already read that gmax is out of the question. What about FS Design Studio, or 3D CAD programs? e.g. TurboCAD

Why is Blender better than Milkshape? It looks like both have deficiencies in the comparison matrix (can't remember the link, but I remember seeing a lot of holes in the columns.) Am I losing out on all that Torque can do by not shelling out $3k+ for 3ds?

I use Gamespace as well. But if your worried about money get Milkshape, its only $30 plus you will be able to follow 3D Game Programming All in One's tutorials.
