Monster Studios dead?

by Thijs Sloesen · in General Discussion · 09/12/2004 (1:50 am) · 8 replies

Hello,

I was just looking at the Reaction Engine SDK, which would be a good candidate for a project I'm currently pondering about, but it seems that the site of the authors (www.monsterstudios.com) is down and that the domain is for sale. Does this mean the developer is no more, and this product is no longer supported?

I am probably wrong here, but i just want to make sure.

Thanks a lot for any info.

I think BraveTree are in progress of taking over support for the product. I can't comment on Monster Studios though :/ But if BraveTree embraces it, it should be fine.

Correct me if im wrong...

Chris Cole got a job somewhere else and doesnt have time for his products RE and CR.
I believe he is in a deal with BT to sign over the products, from there BT are going to put some more life into the products, particularly the Reaction Engine....

I dont think BT have rights to it yet

Oh, I see. Well, I'll just wait this one out a bit then. See what happens. Thanks a lot for the update :)

Thomas I believe what you say is true.

Hi Thomas. As Jay mentions, you are correct. Chris in fact was in town this week and we should be finalizing things soon. We have a tentative arrangement with a very capable and experienced RE user to provide support for the engine in the future. We should have more to say on this later this week.

BTW, we didn't see this posting originally because it wasn't in the RE forums.
