Selling games

How are games selected to be up for sale on the products page? Just wondering. Please don't flame me if this has been answered.

GG is a publisher. The game is submitted to them a contract is drawn up and signed by the game maker and GG and then it is placed up for sale.

See GG page on publishing with them

Also, there is a typo on that page, royalties start at 50%, not 65% (65% is for exclusive, 50% is for non-exclusive)

Man...so you have to have a Mac version too? Is that a relatively easy thing to do? By that I mean porting from Windows to Mac. I'm sorry if these questions are retarded. I'm no programmer, I'm an artist.

Yeah now they recommend a Mac version ... unless it's some absolutely stellar game I think. 65% of the sales are Mac.

Blake,

If you use TGE which is cross platform it takes a mater of hours to get a version up and running on the mac.

Also 65% sales on Mac is what GG is seeing. See FAQ for more details.

Not having a mac port would be like throwing out 2 out of every three game sales. It pays to port. :-)
