Bad geometry?

Who is D Moore and can I please smack him :)

Why is a brush with 3 faces illegal (Bad windings). I need to have a bevel on a face but every time I create a bevel I get a bad windings warning. I have also tried to do a 3 faced brush and glue this to a rectangular block for the same effect but I always get that error!
It seems DIF cannot handle this or am I missing something simple?

3 faces? It's possible I'm not understanding this properly (especially since I haven't really tinkered with QuArK yet), but don't you need a minimum of 4 faces to create a solid?

Something like that, but with polygon faces rather than brushes?

See, when you kill faces of a brush so that they're not complete, it will create a broken brush.

Here's a regular brush:

I killed the East face and it makes a broken brush:

Is there a way that you could create your geometry out of brushes or otherwise use a DTS shape?

It's got to be better than my 1337 ASCII art.

Ok this is a confirmed problem. I sent a simple file to my friend who couldn't convert it to DIF either.

Here we have a bevelled brush that is going to be a bed. I need 2 more bevelled pieces to make up the fold of the blanket and the pillow. Here is one and it compiles fine:-

When i create a second bevelled face either by duplicating the bed or making a new one, it errors. If i delete the new one it compiles fine. I have duplicated, drawn from scratch, glued, tagged and all manner of things, but when I try to have more than one it errors.

I just made a rectangular brush, move the 3 nodes in by 4 and hey presto, wierdness!
