Another board for Torque discussion?

by Jonesey Amazingness · in General Discussion · 09/06/2004 (11:54 am) · 8 replies

Hi.. I'm very greatful the community here at garagegames.. but there doesn't appear to be much in the way of discussion on these boards.. perhaps I am missing something not being a member (add'l forums perhaps that I don't see?) but I only see about 20 posts a day in most of the forums... VB forums I am involved in get about 300 posts a day.. some other game engine forums are approaching 1000 posts a day.. am I missing something? Thx!

You should look down at the Torque forums (both registered & non-registered). Closer to 20 posts per hour down there.

I dont know if you knew this but at teh top of the forum page there is a link that says something like "show all" if you click on that it will show all the different forums. also you can click the other link to make them show all the forums all the time.

You could also try the IRC channel. Lots of traffic there.

Yup, there are forums that you don't see since you are not a Torque SDK Owner.

I haven't seen 20 post a day as a SDK owner...more like 20 post an hour or more. Some days I read in the morning before work and get home and see another 200-600 new postings. I have to spend an hour or two a night to keep up. Plus this is a very big forum with lots of helpfull info. Guess you need to become an sdk owner now:) It's worth it!

I can't even keep up with this place any more. I go to do some work for a few hours and suddenly there are 300 posts to keep up with. Impossible!

It's great to see though :)

I've been lurking and posting too much, and working on the game too little. Yes, definitely more posts than a person can keep up with. But what I'm learning from the posts is 100% valuable, and every bit worth the price of $100 on its own.

These aren't people messing around with the TGE and posting some philosophical hypotheticals. These are people who've actually made and successfully published games, and know what they're talking about. All the school you need is right here on GG, for those willing and dedicated. I mean, the president of GG regularly posts and replies to stuff -- how many companies work like THAT?

Ok.. i guess it is just because I do not own the SDK so don't have access to the private forums.. Thx for the info.. bummer on the limited access but understandable !
