use for stuff like: man, tank ect but it dependent
on a lot of stuff so...

Well, my Captain (person) model uses just under 2000 polys, and I'd still consider that fairly high poly for a main character. That's my limit for my game, as I don't depend on people having a $300 video card. I depend on people having a $30 video card.
