Content packs not specifically made for Torque...

Hi there, has anyone used Geo-metricks's character packs in Torque?
I assume they work, but how much effort is needed to get them to work (scaling, orientation, rigging)?
I also saw that Bravetree will be coming out with a Character Pack for Torque, maybe I should wait to see what will be offering.
Any thoughts?

Hmm... that cuts out using the models in an MMORPG, and any demo you make wouldn't be able to use them as controlling distribution would be a nightmare.

Things that standout from the EULA that could be problematic:Quote:
(c) Use Geo-metricks 3D models/meshes/data-sets in "pay on enter virtual worlds", "subscription virtual worlds", virtual worlds that accept commercial sponsorship or advertising, which exceed 10,000 subscribed users.
(d) Distribute more than 10,000 units of any named products which includes Geo-metricks 3D models/meshes/data-sets, without obtaining permission in writing and/or a full, unlimited commercial license.

The use of Geo-metricks models in any and all applications that imply redistribution will be effected in such a manner that the 3D model's database/geometry is password protected, encrypted, or resides in an executable file and cannot be imported by third parties.

I'll keep learning, working on my modeling and keeping my eye out on the character packs that people bring out.

Yes the EULA leaves a lot to be desired. When I first read the 10k 'audience' limit, it didn't seem like much of a problem, as I'm definitely looking at it from a hobbyist perspective. However, now that I give it some though, I do plan releasing the game I'm working on and 10k copies sounds like a few months of distribution (for demo copies that is). Just doing the accounting on this is more than I want to do.I'll keep learning, working on my modeling and keeping my eye out on the character packs that people bring out.
