Hello all,
I was browsing around the web (I'm busy learning modeling and mapping with 3ds and quark) and I ran across a site with tons of free video tutorials on 3ds and just about everything else...
www.3dbuzz.com
I was wondering what you all think about the site...
Anyway, lots of detailed tutorials here for people trying to learn 3d design.

Hiya

I've used the tutorial section of 3D Buzz quite extensively in the past, especially for the UnrealEd video tutorials. I have also had a look at the 3dsmax & XSI Intro tutorials. They were all fantastic and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I haven't spent any considerable amount of time on the forums, so I can not offer any review on that aspect of the site :)

3D buzz is a good site, I've seen all the videos on 3d buzz and they only take you from beginner to intermediate beginner(no offense 3d buzz)

I am currently trying out there free online class for 3DS Max and all is going well. It is amazing that they provide this course complete with graded assignments, projects, tests, and instructor feedback for free!

I have also mentioned on their forums that Torque VTMs would be great. The have some on C++ programming, Quake 3 level design using gtkRadiant, and a ton of VTMs for MOD building with the Unreal Engine. However, I think they are also sponsored by the makers of the Unreal Engine. I have considered getting the Unreal Tournament 2004 SE DVD just for the hundreds of hours of 3D Buzz VTMs on the bonus DVD which go through creating complete characters, level building in UnrealED, and scripting for the Unreal Engine.

As Leeman said...

3dbuzz is a great resource for beginners however you will find it very hard to develop your skills by using their tut's..

the videos are great to learn the tools/interface etc of different products

Yeah,I went through some of the video tutorials on the site... I had already pretty much figured out the interface for max so the first few lessons were not very helpfull. I am going to use the site for reference instead of the classes. Once I get comfortable in a graphics program I tend to figure everything else out on my own anyway.

Hi,

I find that the video tutorials by Ben Mathis at www.poopinmymouth.com to be better than the ones at 3dbuzz. You should check them out. I think they are linked from fileplanet. Very fast downloads w/o the restriction of the 3dbuzz star system.
