More time for Torque:)

by Ace · in General Discussion · 08/07/2004 (7:01 am) · 7 replies

I got a new job. Partime 8-12. Since my wife earns more then me on the full time basis I got elected to do the part time thing, our kids are at the age when they really need supervision when they get home from school.

Kind of a drastic change, I going from an Auto shop with no heat or air condition, to an Annuity store with a cubical.

Cant wait to get out of the grease and fumes.

Thanks, i have a 2 week notice to get through first, gives me a chance to get my tools and equipment out of the shop with out rushing, plus Ive known the people at the old job for about 20 years and don't want them too mad at me for quitting again, this makes time 4.

I'm getting old (46), and been thinking of getting out of the auto bizz for along time, i was going to just sit at home and do nothing, till my brother heard about it, and dropped the part time offer in my lap.Heh i like having spending money .

I wont be doing much Dev stuff till after i get in the new job, i have to get a place set up for my tools and stuff at home.

Ugh its going to be 100 degrees today

Yea! this is my last day of my old job! And i finished up all existing mechanical jobs yesturday (not many people want to leave there car in a shop over the weekend) so i may get off early. :)

I still have some stuff to do this week end, but then things will calm down and i will have more time time for torque.

...know how that goes, Ace. I'm a professoinal stagehand with a wife who works fulltime; I'm home most days, tending the house/errands/dinner prep, then I go off and work for the ducets later on. Not a bad arrangement. Best 'part-time' job there is...showbiz.

By the way in case your wondering, my wife makes way more then me at work, my brother sold me his house for 250.00 a mounth, and my half of the utilities came to 100.07 (the wife and i have been splitting everything down the middle) so my end is 350 amounth, (which she could handle) but like i said, extra cash is nice.

Got through the first day of the new job, heh, ya know my first real job was cooking for a restaurant/lounge, i stood behind a counter and cooks wheel waiting for Oder's to be filled.

my second was cars mechanics/autobody/painting only trading the cooks wheel for a toolbox and you washed your hands before going to the bathroom as well as after.lol

Now in my small cube i feel as if I'm at the cooks wheel again only this time its a computer :) Man office people live cold lives, I'm taking a jacket tomorrow. (they have a great a/c unit):)
