by nickd · in General Discussion · 07/19/2004 (2:44 pm) · 7 replies

HI,
I downloaded The TGE demo and I found out that it doesn't work. This is what happens, I open my desktop icon for torque and my screen makes a click sound and goes black. then it makes 3 more clicks and flickers, then comes back to the normal desktop with a demo.exe problem. That send error report, or don't send.

these are my comp specs.

windows xp pro
pentium III, 1 ghz
384 MB of RAM
im running my display in 96 DPI
Radeon 7200 AGP
32MB
60 Hertz refresh rate

any more info u might need just ask.

~Thanks,

Do you mean a radeon 9200?

If you really do mean the 7200 then you have a very early radeon card, which isn't very well supported. I think it uses the charisma engine and pixel tapestry if memory serves.

The error you are getting is most likely caused by the card not supporting something that Torque is trying to use.

you can geta cheap 9600 or 9800 these days due to the next gen radeons coming out so it may be worth an upgrade as your compatibility problems will only increase in the future.

The 7200 like most (all?) Radeon cards use the CATALYST driver pack www.ati.com/support/drivers/winxp/radeonwdm-xp.html

All Radeon Cards use the combined catalyst driver.
