Texture doesn't tile in game

by Ray Smith · in Artist Corner · 07/05/2004 (1:43 am) · 2 replies

I'm using gameSpace/Dark Industries DTS exporter to make a crate, simple enough it seems. Modelling fine, uvmapping in gS no problem, but when I get into the show tool, the texure doesn't tile. It's clear from the shot I took and the texture used that it goes dark and blurred at the edges of the bipmap.

(The following link probably won't work unless you right click --> copy shortcut, then paste that into the address bar, no idea why, thanks Rex)
www.freewebs.com/raysmith/cratewrong2.jpg - left is it in the show tool, right is the image used as the texture

Any help on this would be much appreciated, I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with the model as there's no edges near where it goes wrong, and I have remodelled it again and the same thing happened.

Thanks alot,

Ray

(p.s I've only uvmapped the obvious faces here, just to prove the point, don't worry about the others)

That is strange. The only thing I can think of is that maybe you have the no-tile mipmap option turned on when you export. I am not exactly sure how to set this option in the GameSpace exporter.

Maybe someone more familiar with the gamespace tools can offer more insight.

I've had a look on the DarkIndustries forums which I didn't know existed before, and it seems that the feature I'm looking for isn't implmented in the exporter yet, to be included in a future release, hopefully very soon.
