A couple Quark texturing questions.

Recently Quark seems to be able to support PNG files. They they never display right in the texture browser, they do map ok onto brushes and do show up in levels. The problem I have though is anything that is alpha inside my png files ends up looking like that 'hall of mirrors' effect. I did see one guy once use transparent pngs with quark for torque and it worked for him, now I'm wondering where am I going wrong?

Also, is it possible to bumpmap dif files? I didnt see an option in quark for this.

Thanks.

You have to do some engine modification to get it to use transparancy on Interiors. I don't know if the resource ever got finished.

Same may be true with bumpmapping.

Well I once saw someone get it to work, (png alpha) using the same engine I am using without any modifications. Hopefully I can get ahold of him in the next few days.

I read something somewhere that talked about the alpha channel in quark levels but I forgot where I saw that. I would love to know the answer to this question aswell and the bumpmapping...

Anybody ever discovered the bumpmap on dif question. I'm also interested in finding the technology limits.

Thx,
