Alpha layer showing up white in dts export.

I mapped a png to a plane hoping to use it as a fence. But for some reason in show tool (and in game) the alpha shows up as pure white. I am assuming its either a max issue, or something to do with the exporter.

Did you check the opacity slider in the max material?

Perhaps there is another silly little alpha button somewhere hiding.
I imagine dropping a png file into the diffuse slot is all you really needed to do.

I just spent some more time trying to debug the sit and cant figure it out. Alpha keeps showing up as white or gray. I tried to copy the map into the alpha map slot as well and play around but didnt get good results. I am not sure what is going on. Max SHOULD be able to use png files right? I played with the pre-multiplied alpha etc, but still didnt get good results. Puzzling..Perhaps there is another silly little alpha button somewhere hiding.

You have to hit the checkbox in the opacity map channel.

#1 I put my png into the diffuse map
#2 I had to copy an instance of it into the alpha map
#3 I had to play with some settings (e.g. changing rgb to alpha)..
and FINALY it seems to have worked out reasonably.

Ok I found a work around. This is what I did...#1 I put my png into the diffuse map
#2 I had to copy an instance of it into the alpha map
#3 I had to play with some settings (e.g. changing rgb to alpha)..
