Animated uv mapping with 3dxmax to DTS

by Tony Lamba · in Artist Corner · 06/30/2004 (10:58 am) · 2 replies

I have been told that TGE supports animated uv maps. I have got them to work fine in max, I also added a sequence helper but when I export to dts and try to look it up in the show tool, nothing moves, even though I can see there is a thread running. I tried to both collapse and not collapse transforms but nothing seems to make a difference. Tried to search the forum but didnt find much help

Any ideas? I have the max file here in case someone wishes to spot my blunder. Thanks.

Did you check the sequence option that says "Texture animation"? This is the option that you need to use if you have animated UVW coordinates.

Quote:
Texture animation: Enables animation of Texture Coordinates. This is useful for things where the texture itself must animate. Scrolling computer monitors, waterfalls, and tank treads are just a few of the applications for animated texture coordinates.

Ok thanks Logan, it really was as simple as that.
