Texture Blues

After poking in the "starter.racing" (see "Physical Zone Blues") I decide to create my first .DIF Interior using Quark: A big red sign with the GG logo, rectangular shape with 2 omni lights simulating the effect of an advertising poster.
I create the model and the JPG 512x256, assigned the texture to one face of the box and exported all the stuff.
Back to TGE, WorldEd Creator and insert the interior ... all the model image is out of focus!!
I've squeezed the picture to 256x256 -> then in Quark I reimport the texture and i indicate to Quark to adjust the texture (squared) to the shape (rectangular) .. ok.
Exported again in .MAP,extracted needed textures and created .DIF with few warnings.
when I try to insert the interior to TGE happen the same stuff:
//*** The texture is out of focus when I move few steps backward, but if press the "E" (zoom) key the texture looks fine.
Do I neeed to know something?
THX You all for help me.

Thx but I haven't found the real solution, I'm not too handy yet to modify TGE .cc sources so the scripts I've found are not functioning. Is there any incompaibility with the ATI 9600 series?
