Synapse Lighting

by Howard Dortch · in Torque Game Engine · 06/26/2004 (7:05 am) · 28 replies

I have a couple of questions on this upgrade if anyone can answer.

1. How did you get an interior object to penetrate the landscape without terrain showing?!!!

2. Will my artist that creates interiors have to make any changes in exporting models with lights inside or are the lights added afterwards?

3. How many changes are there to current HEAD? Are the changes seperate files that need added and compiled or changes in current files?

My credit card is at the ready......

John I got it all workin now. Thanks.
You probably should just include the modified version of the volume light code, that was a real hair puller.

Wow! Mayhem and destruction!

I didn't spot that one and I'm suprised it's been around for so long, sorry for the confusion everyone.

For your information, I did a quick search and found that "PrecipitationData" doesn't have it's own console-type either so this should perhaps be fixed as well.

I'm a SynapseGame Light Pack owner.
I've spent to days to modify all. The Volumetric need manual typing and I'm not sure if now I've a working .EXE

Is not more easy to have a binary version (TGE+LightPack) to distribute to the owners?

And/Or ...

May I use the TGE.EXE from the SynapseGame Demo?

Thanks for reply me John

Hi Andrea,

I would recommend getting the code working, so you can add other resources to TGE later, but if you only want TGE and the Lighting Pack you can use the executable that comes with the demo.

If you're having difficulty getting the volLight resource working I would be happy to help out. Or are you unsure if it's working properly?

Speaking of the volLight resource I'll build a patch file for it this time around (1.1 release).

Great work John.
Seen the GUI interface and looks very handy.
Wait for 1.1 Vers. to scramble my TGE.
Impatient to put hands on (not on code - LOL)
