Sharing binaries?

by Phillip Lynx · in General Discussion · 06/07/2004 (9:31 pm) · 5 replies

I'm part of team working on a game (who isn't) what I want to know is about sharing the binary demo files.

I don't own a license, but our programmers do. I just model.

Can they share their compiled binaries with me? I want to be able to test my models in Torque using "torquedemo -show" WITHOUT having to send my models to the programmers and have them test them, and then tell me what wrong... etc, etc, as this just isn't very efficient, nor is changing the scripts in the demo to load new models into that...

I've read thru the tutes and while I can play with the scripts and mess with the scenery in the downloaded free demo, I haven't been able to make -show work in it, and I can't afford my own indie license for the next few months. But I don't want to ask my collaborators for binary files that they shouldn't really be sharing... or can they?

Yes - they can compile it for you, and send you the binary.

This forum is fine. Phillip, Davis is correct. You do not need a license to use binaries.

Jeff, correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't this be posted in "Torque Game Engine Public Area" - just a thought. If I wanted to read about something like this I would have went to that area and not this one, as I thought it was more General.

I also realise this is offtopic, so delete it if you wish. :)

If you couldn't share the binaries, it would be hard to sell the game... :)
