This is just a post for those trying to download the TSE Demo. You can download it from my dedicated server. I'll leave it up as I virtually have unlimited bandwidth....so download away.

Crashes if I go to windowed mode... nice.

I'm less than impressed with the driver verification and support too...

GeForce3 here...

Well, it is only the EA... And the first release at that.

Still rather worrying that this isn't in. A lot of games now simply go 'You have driver version 42.2.1 - you need at least 43.5.23 to run this!'

Torque Shader Engine is not a complete engine yet. According to GarageGames, they say to use it for prototypes and simple projects. They also said "It is available for developers who want to get an early jump on shader development"....and I am thankful they did!!

Make absolutely sure you have the latest drivers. We'd do driver verification but I'm uncertain it'll help - how are we to know that new drivers won't break things, too? :)

However, TSE does have a card profiler mechanism, so it's very easy to get the driver version and do whatever sort of validation you want.

How hard is it to download new drivers? Sheesh ;)

DJ go to nvidia and get the latest drivers, I had some issue before I upgraded. But all runs fine on my G force 3

Yeah, what Jason said. Don't be so hard on GG. This is alpha software. If even really that, as it's not a complete engine (lacks sound support for one).

Someone needs to take the pieces that GG has provided and write a robust hardware/driver identification system. (Hint, hint.)

DJ Arcas, I had the same problems with the textures on the terrain and also low framerate (3-4 fps) on my Geforce3. After updating the drivers, the textures are ok and framerate raised enormously.

Yes, installing new drivers fixed it. But one of the jobs of middleware is to get rid of my having to worry about what hardware the game is running on. I'll second what David Grace said. :)

Our next rev of the demo will have driver version validation.

New demo is out, is anyone still having problems getting it? If so could you guys mirroring the old demo switch to the new one? Thanks much!
