Keeping water renderable.

I had been trying to debug for quite some time why my water refused to show up. Then it occured to me, the water block doesnt seem to show up when it is UNDER the terrain? I noticed before I had no problem with water blocks cutting into portalized dif files. Because of this I thought I could make a small water-block, and place it inside my underground catacombs. Unfortunately the water then becomes in-visible, unless I rase it above the terrain field.
Is there an option to force water to be renderable, such as the option in terrain for being forced to render inside a portalized dif file?
As is, I think my only solution is to make part of my water block stick out of the terrain, then this seems to FORCE the entire block to show up renderable.

Matt, thanks a lot. I"ll make sure to get this extra code added asap. BTW, are there any performance issues with underwater terrains?
