3d Canvass by Amabilis

Here is a link to an interesting and inexpensive modeling program, 3d Canvass by Amabilis. It seems easier to use than the other stuff I tried. It outputs files in several various standard formats, including truspace .cob, directx, etc.

I'm new to Torque and would like to know if anyone else has tried exporting files from this program into Torque. Not to sure about exporting yet.
Maybe GG could take a look at developing an exporter for this one too? Or will the existing export tool bring in files from anywhere?
thanks in advance for any responses on this post.

Now, not to say GG shouldn't create a content pipeline which others can modify to suit their needs, which they've already done. I'm simply saying it's a waste of their time to create an exporter for every modeling program that comes along, especially ones without any obvious support in the GG community. I would much rather have them focused on polishing TSE atm. ;-)
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming 3D Canvas. Quite the opposite, in fact! I'm no 3D Artist, but I was very impressed by what I saw, and more impressed by the price ($70 for the 'Pro' package.)
Obviously this company is out to make money. (Duh!) So, doesn't it make sense that they would want to expand their potential market as much as possible?
Their prices (Free, $35, $70) puts them right _smack dab_ into the middle of the indy market. So, to me, it makes sense to capitalize on their pricing by appealing to the single largest Indy Dev Community their is - the GG one.
So, what I'm saying is that I think it would make much more sense for this community to approach Amabilis about an exporter (Not to say you haven't already Floyd), than to approach GG. I mean, if they're not willing to create an exporter for such a large community, it's their own loss in revenue.
Personally, I would _love_ to see more viable 3D alternatives in the sub-$100 pricerange. Not only for myself & my team, but I think having more options would allow this community to grow.

I personally find it curious why it's always assumed GG should be responsible for creating exporters for 3rd-party tools. Now, not to say GG shouldn't create a content pipeline which others can modify to suit their needs, which they've already done. It seems that 3D Canvas has a plugin archetecture in place(a quick look at their site turned up a good dozen plugins for all kinds of functions). That said, you don't need the source for an exporter, just a plugin interface that exposes the information you need to export-which it looks like they might have in place. We just need someone to create an exporter for it(and no, I think GG has so much on their plate already, someone can make this a small revenue opportunity for themselves).

It says it can export to 3ds, isn't there a 3ds converter for torque?
