just starting with the v12 engine

Hi,
I just downloaded the v12 and whs wondering what i should use for a compiler.

I have been modifying the q3a source since it came out, with edited default compilers that came with it. So i have no idea which way to go, far as getting the right compiler for v12 and me.

I have a 500p3 512 mb memory running under win2000. I also have a dual boot with win98se, but think win2000 is superior and will be using it.

What i need is a link to the actual compiler i should get, weather it be vc++6.0 or codewarior6, cuz when i do a search iget diferent options to buy, and i want to make sure i get one specificly for v12.

Thanks in advance, Once i get familar with this engine, I will be here quite offten helping and looking for help just as i did in the q3 community.

If you plan on developing in W2K I'd go get vc++6 and service pack 5 for it. The batch builds are already done and work quite well.

I would get VC++. It is the best, IMHO.

I have a CodeWarrior bumpersticker on my car but thats only because we use it for making PS2 games, beyond that, I wouldnt buy it if it was only $10. The IDE isnt all that great and its harder to keep track of what your working on and I just plain hate it. Use VC++. :)

thanks for your replys what is the service pack5 ? somrthing else to buy? and is it for w2k? if so i may just use 98 , alto i di a tut in the vc++ and it did compile and the simple program actualy work the first try, tickled me :)
