Hi all,

Just wanted to share this with you.

I have been looking for a way to create tileable texture from digital camera pics.
I could not manage to get anything usable with photoshop but eventualy I found the following software that do an excellent job and for only a few bucks. I personnally will test it for a few more days and I seriously think about buying it, it saved my day :)

Here is the link :

click photoSeam

Claude-Alain,

I have also looked at:
texture maker
and
STile

I used STile on a digital picture. Worked ok. Might help you.

XFaderis pretty good at tiling, although it's US$25.

I use Photoshop 7 and get seamless tileable textures with no problem. I found several tutorials on the net, and I have a couple books that go through the process with Photoshop.
I've also tried Texturemaker, and it is even easier to make them, although Photoshop can do a lot more things overall.

Making Tileable & Seamless Textures with the Gimp
the GIMP

The gimp homepage at this time has an online protest you will have to click through.

Well Willbkool photoshot allow you to do most of the job that's true. But I found photoSeam easyer to use as it present you with the exact tools you need to do the job.
I am not a photoshop/gimp specialist so I have a tendency to go for the easy way on the artistict side.

PaintShopPro 8.0 also does tiling.
