I'm unable to access the "General Torque Dcoumentation

Hi, I have seen that there is new Torque documentation available at -
http://www.garagegames.com/docs/torque/general/
- but I am unable to access it. Is this general Torque documentation available only to Indie Licensees, or is supposed to be available to everyone? When I click on the link, Internet Explorer acts like it is going to open the page (the little bar at the bottom begins to fill), but then nothing happens after that. The 404 Error does not even show up - the page just stays exactly as it was. Its very strange. Can any one help?

Where in SC are you? I'm from Greenville, or more precisely, Taylors in Greenville county :)

I am in Rock Hill...not too far away. There is another GG community member someone near Clemson (I forget who), one near Columbia (Matt Mitman aka Chemeleon), and two in Charleston (Ryan Parker and a guy I met at IGC last year whose name eludes me also).

Yes, it requires an indie (or pro) license to see the General Torque Docs.

It should redirect non-Torque owners, though. We will look into why that is failing.

The site was being a little goofy this weekend (or maybe it was just my connection at home). Have you tried accessing the docs again? You should be directed to a version of the docs for non-owners.
Please give us more details. :)

Ok, we looked into it. Our fault :) You should be able to access the docs now (note: you will only be able to see the non-owner version, which cuts out about half of the documentation).

And why would you disable the "Getting Started" doc section? Isn't it in your interest to have non-owners have an easy time getting started with Torque so they can purchase it once they learn to use it?

Hi, thanks for looking into this. Quick question, though. Why are non-owners unable to access the "Torque Console Commands and Functions" docs? That would seem like something that owners and non-owners would need, right? And why would you disable the "Getting Started" doc section? 99% of the Getting Started guide is how to download the source from CVS and compile it. That doesn't apply to non-owners obviously.

Oh. Cool. But what about the Torque Console Commands section? That would be great to have :)

If I remember correctly, the available console commands are listed in a readme file and/or in the help menu included with the Torque demo.

So, no worries, non-owners aren't missing anything.
You can view a complete, script-only version of the info that will eventually be contained in this section here.
If you are just curious, there were three reasons the section was left out for non-owners
1) The tiny bit of new info that is available is just a bit too close to C++ code (some type info is revealed) for non-owners to see.
2) Ron Yacketta's resource, linked to above, contains the same info, but for script only. Ron's resource is quite complete, whereas the appendix in the docs is currently very unfinished.
3) The appendix contains so little new information that it is practically worthless, at present. So, it won't harm non-owners to not see it.
Considering these three points led to the decision. :)

Just so you know, you aren't missing anything at all with the Torque Console Commands section. As it stands, the section is pretty redundant. We either need to flesh it out a lot, or remove it.So, no worries, non-owners aren't missing anything.
