Building Torque under OS X using Xcode
by Nathan Miller · in Torque Game Engine · 03/18/2004 (8:34 pm) · 5 replies
I'm thinking about getting the Torque engine for fun and I was wondering if it compiles under OS X using Xcode. Has anyone tried this? The requirements page says it needs Project Builder and I know Xcode can convert PB workspaces, but I was just curious to see if anyone had tried it.
Thanks a lot,

Yes, Torque definitely compiles under XCode.
We just haven't changed the documentation yet to reflect the move from PB to XCode, but that'll change very soon. :)

Here's a post from another thread that tells you how to fix it so it runs in Xcode/Panther.Quote:Now, open Applications/Utilities/terminal.app
type: ranlib /cvsroot/torque/lib/vorbis/macosx/libogg.a
press enter
now type
ranlib /cvsroot/torque/lib/vorbis/macosx/libvorbis.a
press enter

The documentation for mac is specifically aimed at people using Xcode or Project Builder. It does compile on OSX with Xcode. Documentation here:www.garagegames.com/docs/torque/general/ch04s02.php
